This is probably "Closing the barn door after the horse gets out," but I've deleted most of the stuff on my LJ profile page. And what I kept, I made visible to friends only.
I'm keeping the profile up at my DreamWidth site, though.
I've also disabled all virtual gifts. If you want to send me something to cheer me up, save your pennies (dollars, really), and send me a PM with a {hug}, or something.
It will be just as effective.
And when LJ, demanded that I put something in the Name field, I quoted Emily Dickenson:
