Had to get up extra early (for me) and go out and buy a new refrigerator/freezer, today... After driving home from the Mall in August heat and traffic, you get an icon description of my Na'artitude (Text: The Muse is Willing But the Brain is Mush):

The fonts are Maiandra GD (16 pt) and Franklin Gothic Demi Condensed (various sizes).

Date: 2012-08-14 11:47 pm (UTC)I like the idea and wording and colors, but it's just too small for me to appreciate. Ah well.
pull my arm why don't you! in alphabetical order:
Hmm, guess Franklin is in my top six!

Date: 2012-08-15 05:32 pm (UTC)... All of those fonts except Franklin Gothic were included in the Microsoft pack several years after this machine was built (2002, still running Windows XP) -- another thing to look forward to, when I finally upgrade!.
So I had to look them up on Wikipedia ... And that led to too much time browsing the typeface articles, when I should have been in bed, including this snippet of a letter from Samuel Pepys about trying to find a clerk who could transcribe a document into Chancery Hand. ...and I thought the DMV was a headache!
P.S. #1 & #2: For the icon, I chose Maiandra because of its design link to ancient Greek stone inscriptions, and that seemed to fit the subject of the first half. I've also used it in the final of my Monster Challenges poem videos, because there, the images include my own handwriting drawn with a pencil eraser, and of all the fonts available to me for the animated titles, Maiandra and Comic Sans were the least jarring, in comparison. But Comic Sans carries too "childish" a tone, and Maiandra is just a little more polished, to my eye.
And now that I've worked out the wording and colors, I may adapt that icon into a "trucker hat" design -- would that be the opposite of a "thinking cap"?

Date: 2012-08-16 04:41 pm (UTC)I had about three different ideas I wanted to try. But each time I started think about the first step of each one, everything went (*blows a really wet raspberry*), and the only thing I could manage was dozing off... (even remembering that has got me yawning, now... so I think I'd better get onto today's Na'Arting...)
